The Closer Bra . . . by Handful

I was very interested in trying out a sports bra made by the company Handful after hearing many of my BibRave Pro friends raving about this brand. Many of them had the opportunity to test a Handful bra at the the end of last year, and they had a ton of good things to say.

The Closer

I like the spirit of this female-owned company right down to their name and one of their slogans, “Activewear that supports you grabbing life by the handful.”

Their vision and mission, right off their website, which you can visit by clicking here at Handful:

“Our mission is to elevate, motivate, and support women to grab life!

Our vision is that women confidently and unapologetically prioritize themselves and find their happy-active (be it walking the dog, hiking, or running a marathon).

We make apparel that makes you happy. Happy because it fits just right and feels great no matter what you’re doing. Happy because the women who designed them thought of all the details, leaving you with one – make that two – less things to worry about. And happy because, by buying a Handful, you bought a lifetime membership to our sisterhood of sass.”

We’ve got your back….and you know we’ve got your front!”

We were able to test “The Closer,” one of several bra models they make.  I chose a Medium after being told to pick my t-shirt size, and I chose “Booya Black.”  I have never worn a sports bra with a front zipper closure, so I was curious as to how I would like the fit.  Also, I was unsure how I would like a bra with as much support as this one looked to offer. My chest is more on the small side, and I can easily wear light support bras with no problem. However, I am a runner who participates in that and other high impact sports, so I figured it would be interesting to try.

In addition to the front zipper, there is an internal hook for more support. The back has two adjustable straps, and both the front and back have a sporty looking mesh. It also comes with removable “Lights Out” (see what they did there, again?) pads so that you can customize the fit. The pads are really well made and look like they will hold up through many washings. Overall, it’s really a great looking bra; I read reviews by other women who are wearing it for a bathing suit top, which I could totally see doing.

The internal hook inside the zipper (totally comfortable while wearing–I couldn’t feel the hook or the zipper)

I wore this bra for the first time yesterday for a five mile run, and the company’s description is exactly what I experienced: a buttery soft and quick drying fabric. The size medium fit perfectly, so it truly does go with your t-shirt size. It was super comfortable, and I forgot I was wearing it. What more could you want to happen when on the run?!?!?

#FUcancer–I love this hashtag, and I love that the company  supports women with and survivors of breast cancer. Click here to learn more.

Use code “BIBRAVE” for 10% off!  You can use this for your entire order from the Handful website.

I’ve already used the code to order another bra from Handful.  It was a hard decision, as I like The Closer so much, but I wanted to try some of their other models, too. They also make leggings, tank tops, long sleeved shirts, and other accessories.
