I have participated in many Fleet Feet Sports training programs, acting in different roles. I also go to various pub runs and fun runs, especially in the “off” seasons when Fleet Feet is not running training programs.

My Running History

As I embark upon my second training program as coach this week, I’ve been thinking back over my own running history, my last four years as a runner. In fact, I’ve been thinking about my level of physical activity over my entire life.  I don’t think there’s anything extraordinary about my story, and there are millions of them out there on different variations for people all over the world.

Although I’ve written about this before in a shorter post (“Transforming from not-a-runner into a Runner“), I feel that it’s important to listen to others’ stories of successes as we strive to meet our own goals, so I’m putting this out there.  If it inspires just one person to go on a run or try something new, then it’s worth writing it down.   Continue reading

Bryce

Bryce is my cousin’s little boy, but for all intensive purposes, I think of and refer to him as my nephew.  He is an adorable three year old.  Last weekend, his dad ran a 100 mile ultramarathon (see my post entitled “The Amazing Brad and His 100 Mile Journey”), and Bryce was able to experience all the awe and excitement of that event. He will grow up knowing that his dad did something that is difficult and amazing and something that most people will not ever dream of attempting. Continue reading
